Botanical Name: Cymbopogon nardus
Synonyms: Andropogon nardus, Cymbopogon afronardus
Solubility: Soluble in alcohol and oils. Insoluble in water.

Aldehyde Content: 7.0 – 15 %
Total Alcohol Content: 55 – 65 %
Contents: Geraniol (18-20%), citronellol (6.4-8.4%), citronellal (5-15%), geranyl acetate (2%), limonene (9-11%), methyl isoeugenol (7.2-11.3%).

Citronella oil~ Cymbopogon Nardus ~ Imported from Sri Lanka Our citronella essential oil is a first distillation therapeutic, undiluted, 100% pure essential oil. Overall Scent: Slightly sweet, powerful and lemony citrus scent with subtle wood tones. Color: Yellow to yellowish brown Properties: Citronella essential oils most useful quality seems to be as an insect repellant and may also help rid dogs and cats of fleas. What is surprising about citronella oil, is that is also known to clear the mind and can be useful against headaches and migraines. This oil is also credited with having other therapeutic properties helpful in combating cold and flu as well as minor infections.Citronella oils natural deodorant and stimulating properties always refresh sweaty tired feet, activating the whole body. Due to these properties, citronella oil is also a great option for cleaning bathrooms and garbage cans. Use Suggestions: When used as a deodorant, deodorizer, or purifier, 10 drops of citronella oil into a dehumidifier will quickly rid the room of foul odors. As an insecticide, a few drops on potpourri, candles or in a diffuser or oil burner is very effective. Citronella oil can also be mixed with a carrier oil and rubbed on the skin to keep mosquitoes and insects from biting. To use citronella oil to lift your spirits, we recommend blending with Pine or Lemon (for day time), or orange oil or cedarwood oil (for night time) to increase its effectiveness.
