A WORD ABOUT THE QUALITY OF OUR AROMATHERAPY ESSENTIAL OILS: If you are looking to buy therapeutic aromatherapy products that will heal, delight and inspire, you have come to the right place! Our 100% Pure Essential Oils are first distillation, which means they have only gone through the distillation process once (first from the plant) and contain the highest level of therapeutic healing properties available in an essential oil. This makes our pure essential oils very concentrated and highly therapeutic. In fact, our oils are so concentrated that we caution our customers to use rubber gloves while handling, and to always dilute our essential oils prior to contact with the body.

Our essential oils are 100% pure, undiluted and natural, and we do not add alcohols or cutting agents of any kind. Our essential oils are truly pure essential oils, and you can use them like you would use other essential oils, however please be aware that some other companies are adding carriers oils and are blending them so that customers can use or use them for specific reasons.

Also be aware that some companies claim to offer Pure essential oils, but do not tell you they may have distilled their products up to 8 times! That means that when you buy their cheap essential oils, very little therapeutic benefits are gained by their use. We, at 100% Pure Essential Oils & Aromatherapy Products Online find that practice unacceptable, and guarantee you a highly therapeutic product.

Other companies dilute their essential oils with alcohols and other chemicals to mass market their products at outrageous markups. Not us. Our essential oils are all derived from nature – without the use of additives, alcohols or anything synthetic. Furthermore, no pesticides have been used during cultivation of the plants from which our oils are extracted. When you buy essential oils from us, you get pesticide free essential oils and can erase any concerns of putting unnatural chemicals into your body.

In most cases, our oils are steam distilled, while a few are cold pressed. Regardless of the method, all of our pure essential oils are first distillation only. This means you receive a highly potent aroma, and superbly therapeutic product. These measures ensure you will receive the maximum health and therapeutic benefits when you purchase essential oils from us.

Q. What is an Essential Oil?

A. Essential oils are very powerful, plant essence extracts. Plants offer unique properties and contain natural oils that can be extracted through a distillation process. During the distillation process, the essential oils are separated from the remainder of the plant material and the oil is isolated. Our essential oils are all pure, first distillation, therapeutic grade, unadulterated oils.

Q. What are the Top 10 Essential Oils?

A. The top ten essential oils are those which present the most benefit, and are most popular. According to the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy, the top ten are as follows:
    1. Eucalyptus, Eucalyptus globulus or Eucalyptus radiata: Both western and eastern medicine have used eucalyptus for its support of the respiratory system, popular ingredient for cough and throat medicine and chest ointments. Also helps to boost the immune system, and relieve muscle tension.

    2. Ylang Ylang, Cananga odorata: Organic Ylang Ylang seduces the senses and relaxes the mind. Its exotic, spicy aroma has been said to help ease high blood pressure. It is an aphrodisiac and sleeping aid; the perfect tonic for the bedroom.

    3. Geranium, Rose, Pelargonium graveolens: Properties include balancing, warming and lifting of emotions. Wonderful as a skin hair care ingredient, as it helps clear acne, exfoliates dull skin, and controls oily skin. Helps to balance hormones in women as well. Can be both relaxing and uplifting, as well as an antidepressant.

    4. Peppermint, Mentha piperita: One of the most popular essential oils, vitalizes, energizes, stimulates, and restores the senses. Famous for its ability to settle and slow the digestive system and is curative for indigestion and flatulence. Used in both Eastern and Western medicine for a variety of complaints including fevers, headaches, migraines, and arthritis.

    5. Lavender, Lavandula angustifolia: Lavender offers a multitude of physical, spiritual, and emotional benefits and uses. A must for relaxing and calming, lavender works as a natural anti-depressant and analgesic. Not only is Lavender Essential Oil energizing or relaxing, but it is also very balancing. The scent will rejuvenate and inspire a tired person and relax, soothe and slow down someone who is stressed or tense. Also useful in treating wounds and burns, and is a great additive to skin care.

    6. Lemon, Citrus limon: Refreshing and rejuvenating. Very uplifting, yet relaxing. Its aroma inspires and brings fresh energy, clears the mind. Citrus oils help to eliminate emotional confusion and increase ones sense of humor and well-being. Thought to be the cure all by ancient Egyptians, today it is known as an effective astringent. Helpful in treating wounds, infections, and house cleaning and deodorizing.

    7. Clary Sage, Salvia sclarea: Famous for its ability to calm and relax the mind and the muscles. It is wonderful in helping mature skin look its best, and a great hair care ingredient. Clary Sage is a natural pain killer, and helps in the treatment of muscle aches and pains. It is very balancing, relaxing, and can help with insomnia. Also good for balancing hormones.

    8. Tea Tree, Melaleuca alternifolia: Naturally cleansing Tea Tree oil helps to lift the spirit. Known as an antiseptic staple, it was regarded as a way to slow the spread of viruses in hospitals in the early 1900's. It has been extensively researched by scientific methods with the following result: 1) this oil is unusual in that it is active against all three varieties of infectious organisms: bacteria, fungi, and viruses. 2) it is a very powerful immune-stimulant, so when the body is threatened by any of these organisms tea-tree increases its ability to respond.

    9. Roman Chamomile, Anthemus nobilis or Blue Chamomile, Matricaria Chamomilla: Very relaxing, soothing, without being a sedative, very gentle oil for many skin conditions, digestive problems and stress. Also good for muscle aches and tension. Useful in treating wounds and infection.

    10. Rosemary, Rosmarinus officinalis: Organic Rosemary essential oil calms apprehension while stimulating the spirit. This helps with memory and concentration, improving mental clarity and can relieve mental fatigue as well as guard against intense emotions and mood swings. Rosemary also strengthens the nervous system and is a valuable heart and liver tonic, helping to reduce high blood pressure. This oil is very much a yang oil, in that it provides stability and structure during times of emotional volatility. Rosemary is a wonderful remedy for many physical and spiritual ailments, and is a must have in your collection.

Q. I ingest other essential oils. Are your essential oils safe to ingest?

A. We do not recommend any aromatherapy treatment without the guidance of a licensed aromatherapist. With that in mind, we cannot recommend that our customers ingest ANY essential oils from anyone. We will say that our essential oils are 100% Pure, and HIGHLY THERAPEUTIC. Our essential oils are first distillation only – which means they are the first oils to come from the plant and are not distilled again. They are highly concentrated and special care must be taken when using them. Our essential oils should always be blended with a carrier oil or other medium prior to use on or in the body. If you are currently ingesting essential oils from another company, be sure to thoroughly understand what you are ingesting-if those essential oils are 100% pure-if those essential oils are blended – and how many times those essential oils have been distilled. We caution our customers to become extremely knowledgeable about what they are taking internally, and how those essential oils compare to ours.

If you plan to ingest our essential oils we would strongly recommend natural carrier oils be added to create a blended oil. Our Essential oils should be mixed at 1% with other products, which means only small amounts (drops) should be used with mixtures. Again, we do not endorse any aromatherapy treatment without consultation and instructions from a licensed aromatherapist.

Q. What is first distillation?

A. First Distillation means that the essential oils sold here are the first oils to be extracted from the plant. The significance of first distillation is that you are receiving the highest possible form of therapeutic essential oils available from the plant. Essential oils can be distilled many times. Each additional distillation of the oil adds volume while reducing therapeutic properties (it is like adding water to your oil – it makes the oil less concentrated and less therapeutic). Always be sure to know what level of distilled oils you are buying - this will most certainly affect the amount of therapeutic benefits you receive.

Q. Are your essential oils certified?

A. YES – Our essential oils are internationally certified, and meet all ISO Standards for Quality. Internationally Certified Oils mean that our oils meet International Specifications and Quality Standards. We have a certificate of analysis performed for each essential oil received internationally, to ensure that the oils are pure, and meet odor, gravity, rotation and other property specifications acceptable for each essential oil. Our essential oils are also ISO Certified and meet strict ISO standards for quality.

Q. Can I use essential oils directly on the skin?

A. Only a few essential oils can be applied neat. In general, it is best to dilute the essential oils prior to application on the skin. One exception would be lavender oil in the case of burns. Essential oils are similar to medications and should not be over-used. If neat applications take place do not use this method of application for more than a few consecutive days. Base and carrier oils, water, lotions, shampoo, conditioner, and other similar products are used to prepare the oil for application to the body. It is suggested that you wear rubber type gloves while mixing these oils. It is wise not to apply essential oils directly on the skin without consulting a professional aromatherapist first.

Back to the list

Q. Can I mix essential oils with baby oil?

A. Baby oil is a mineral oil that the body just cannot process correctly. It is not recommended for blending with essential oils. Baby oil deposits the Essential Oils into the skin as toxins, and the combination can be detrimental.

Back to the list

Q. What is a Carrier / Base Oil?

A. Carrier oils, also called base oils, are indispensable in the practice of aromatherapy, because they help to carry the essential oils into the skin. Since the essential oils contain beneficial properties, which have therapeutic uses, allowing them to be absorbed into the skin using carrier oils is desired. A carrier oil is usually a vegetable or nut type oil which is skin safe and moisturizing. We stock five all natural carrier oils; apricot kernel oil, grape seed oil, jojoba oil, sunflower oil, and sweet almond oil. These oils can be used to make massage oils, creams, lotions, soaps, perfumed body oils, and bath oils. In massage, these oils are used to evenly distribute the essences as well as lessening the chance of irritation or sensitization. We also stock DPG, (Dipropylene Glycol) which can is used as a carrier oil to dilute the essential oil and allows the essential oil to be safely applied to the skin.

Q. Does practicing aromatherapy take a lot of time?
A. This all depends on how much or how little you wish aromatherapy to be a part of your life. It only takes a moment to apply lotion, dab a drop of oil on your wrists, dropper oil into a tissue and inhale or turn on an aroma lamp. It is that simple.
You can also dive right in and spend hours experimenting with creating your own blends and scents. The wonderful thing about essential oils, is that it is so easy to use and you have the ability to create a scent or customized therapy product completely unique to your needs and desires.

Q. How can I use aromatherapy essential oils?
A. Aromatherapy is easy to use at home, in the car, in the office, and at school. Just about anywhere you go, aromatherapy can go with you.

In the Car:
If you are driving on a long trip, and need to be alert and awake, put a sachet in the car. Place it on the dashboard. The heat from the sun, or defroster will help release the aroma. You will find it lasts much longer than any car freshener on the market, with the added benefit of essential oil therapy.

In the Office:
This is a favorite place to incorporate the benefits aromatherapy into every day living, as most of us spend a majority of time here. Typically, the use of a diffuser or candles is unacceptable within an office setting. However, keeping a scented bottle of lotion in your desk drawer can work wonders. Simply whiff the bottle or apply a small amount of lotion on your hands for a quick pick-me-up. You will find this can change your mood and attitude instantly.

In your Dormitory:
If you are a student, and need to study for an exam, a light bulb ring is a simple way to provide reading light and aromatherapy at the same time. Choose an oil that will aid in concentration and memory, and be amazed at how much your studies improve.

Here is an example listing of possible uses:

Potpourri Potpourri cooker Sachet's

in 2 cups water in pan.)

What is aromatherapy? Essential Oil treatment benefits. Aromatherapy Essential Oil information, recipes. Top 10 essential oils. Use aromatherapy to benefit your health and wellbeing.

When using a tealight diffuser, does the essential oil need to be diluted with a carrier oil or should it be added to the diffuser "neat"?

The best way to use essential oils in an electric diffuser or tea light burner is to combine a carrier oil with the essential oils. Using a carrier oil with essential oils in a diffuser will allow the essential oils to mix with the carrier oil and heat evenly. The heat is needed to activate the molecules in the essential oil, making them more volatile, thus releasing the therapeutic properties into the air. We suggest using carrier oil like dipropylene glycol (DPG), which is virtually odorless. It will mix with the oil, and is a lower cost solution to blending with natural carrier oil, especially if you are just using it in a diffuser.

You can use the essential oils with water in your tea candle diffuser, however most essential oils are not water soluable and the oils will float on the surface. The essential oils may not reach the temerature they need until the water level is down too low, and there is a risk of burning the oil. If you use water, you should be sure to check the water level often so that it doesn't dry out.

Try 10 drops of essential oil to 30 drops of carrier oil, and adjust according to your preference.
